Project Go Green MD is a project geared towards food stamp recipients. This program teaches families how to build andmaintain their own vegetable garden using food benefits to purchase live plants. The program includes garden design and education. Education on various types of vegetable plants and common pests are available as ell. The participant will plow their own garden, treat their soil, choose the plants, plant their garden and maintain it's needs. The participants are give a disposable camera to record their garden's process as well as to calculate exactly how much grow occurs with their plants. It is the goal of this organization to teach every participant gardening skills to become self sufficient in food production. This organization now serves the lower eastern shore however expansion is planned in the future. |
